Update 9 - Thank you, backers! Forsaken Lands Campaign Close and Backerkit Launch
over 4 years ago – Wed, Dec 18, 2019 at 07:33:07 AM

Hello Backers!

Your generous support has helped make this campaign an outstanding success, and words can not express the gratitude I have for each and every one of you! Three Backers' Roulette Stretch goals have been unlocked, and preliminary surveys for all Holy Knights are on their way! While the core set Kickstarter journey is coming to its close, there is still much more adventure ahead!

As a special thank you to everyone who backed, I have a surprise give away, a bonus item I am throwing in for fun, that I think everyone will enjoy! It will appear as part of your digital download set, but is not officially listed in this campaign!

The biggest thing to expect in the two week waiting period ahead of core set distribution will be the Backerkit service going live. If you are a Holy Knight pledge, you will receive a preliminary survey though Kickstarter if you want to start putting in suggestions!

A preorder page will launch for late backers, but for Kickstarter campaign backers, there will a future update with some more information to accompany the survey launch to get everything finalized for distribution.

NOTE: Pledges can be changed as well for those who were interested. Ranger's Pass Pledges will have access to all of the model sets on an individual basis, or an upgrade to Holy Knight and the Backers' Roulette stretch goals!

Thank you all so much for your support of my artistic pursuits! I am super excited to get these files out to everyone, and start work modeling your creative ideas with the Backers' Roulette!

Hope you all have a wonderful night; I will have more to share very soon!

Sincerely,

Michael

Update 8 - Level 3 Backer Roulette Stretch Goal Unlocked
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 16, 2019 at 09:08:13 PM

Hello Backers!

A quick update today with some exciting news! As of right now there are less than 36 hours remaining in the campaign, and another stretch goal level has been unlocked for the Backers' Roulette!

This means a third, additional terrain set will be included for all Holy Knight pledges based on survey suggestions and votes!

Also, just a small note since the campaign is closing, if you have any very time sensitive, or important questions for me in the final hours of the campaign, please send me an email directly at ArchangelDesign3D at Gmail.com for the fastest response time! These go directly to my phone, so I can get back to you as soon as possible.

I have the preliminary surveys ready for all Holy Knight pledges for stretch goal suggestions, but feel free to share your ideas in the comments to discuss with other party members! Thank you all so much for your support!

Sincerely,

Michael

Update 7 - Campaign Close Out, Backerkit Information, Surveys and More
over 4 years ago – Sat, Dec 14, 2019 at 07:10:39 AM

Hello Backers!

As we near the final weekend of the campaign, I thought today would be a good time to outline some of the upcoming steps ahead for when the campaign closes.  First though, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your overwhelming support of this campaign!

These finished models are the result of countless hours of experimentation, new challenges, and sculpting benchmarks I have set for myself, and I am super excited to get these files out to everyone and onto your printers. Your support and words of encouragement have kept me working hard and learning new ways to bring my ideas into reality!  Without that, I would not be able to dedicate myself or my time to the process, and words can not express the gratitude I have for each of you! You are all awesome, and I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of each of these terrain pieces!

As we approach the final few days of the campaign, here are some things to keep in mind for the days ahead. The campaign will close on Tuesday at midnight Eastern Time in the U.S. From there the Backerkit page will launch within one to three days following its closure if not sooner. The Backerkit page is going to allow Ranger's Pass pledges to select individual sets with the $5 pledge already set as a credit in the service.

In addition, the first set of Backer Surveys will go out via Kickstarter's own survey system. This survey process will include an area for Backer suggestions which will be used to formulate the ideas for voting on the terrain sets in all unlocked in stretch goals!

From there a second survey will go out within one week via Backerkit which will arrive directly to Backer emails, this will allow every backer to finalize their pledge, make changes to their pledge if needed, and also allow another chance to suggest stretch goal pieces if you missed the first survey.

It is approximately a two week waiting period between the close of a Kickstarter campaign and the time frame Backerkit allows for distribution. The core set will be delivered within that time frame, but I will keep everyone updated on an exact day!

Once all the suggestions are in and all of the core set models have been delivered, I will make an announcement sometime in early January 2020 and send a polling link out either through a closed update, or through the survey system directly to your email, which will begin the voting process.

Once the votes are tallied, planning and construction of the stretch goals will begin, with frequent updates so you can see the renders and print tests as they are being created! (And maybe just a few more surprises for you wonderful folks that aren't officially planned!)

If you have any questions about anything, please direct message me, or send me a shout out in the comments sections! I will get back to you as soon as possible! If there are any questions once Backerkit surveys go out, I can walk you through the process to get you set up to receive your direct downloads.

Thank you all; I will have more exciting news to share very soon!

Sincerely,

Michael

Update 5 - Journey through the Spider's Lair
over 4 years ago – Fri, Dec 06, 2019 at 12:16:52 AM

Hello Backers!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! I just wanted to share some photos of the cavern and spiders' lair terrain pieces in action from my friend Alex, with Wright Terrain Studio.

Alex was nice enough to test print and paint some of the terrain pieces in this set during the early stages of development, and is still hard at work with these in his studio!  He really helped me out when I was getting the project started, and I wanted to take some time to share his recent builds.

Alex has been incorporating my printed terrain pieces into his own games, and building customized platforms and rock sections of his own for some of them, which I thought was super exciting!

He has done an outstanding job painting these pieces! Here is a close up, which really captures the nuances and textures of each rock section embedded in the finished prints. The dry brush really highlights the details, and brings out more of the realism in each rock face.

Also, here is a good photo to show the size of the overall pieces in relation to some 28 mm scale miniatures. My goal with these was to make sure the texture was there for a fun painting experience, so every model really takes a dry brush well, and will highlight those details to provide some interesting results.

Wright Terrain Studio has posted more photographs featured on the studio Facebook page, if you want to check them out! Also, we are nearing another unlock goal on the Backer's Roulette scale, which means the potential for another added terrain set for everyone! For those who may have missed some of the details on the stretch goal unlocking process, please check out Updates 2 and 3 for more information.

After the campaign closes, backer surveys will include an area for suggestions, which will then be voted on for the creation of each new set. The roulette will continue to scale into additional unique, customized terrain sets that will be added as the campaign progresses!

Thank you all for your overwhelming support! I can't wait to share these files with you, and start working on the new terrain pieces for the unlocked stretch goals! I am very curious to see what you have in mind for those, so please drop your ideas in the comment section to discuss with the other party members. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Michael
